This Yixing teapot is made in Jiangsu province, an area situated 120 miles northwest of Shanghai, China. The teapot has a traditional design and is commonly used by elite scholars now for centuries.
Yixing teapots are known to be the best method of brewing tea. With continued usage, the purple clay from which the Yixing teapots are made, absorb the aroma and flavors of your tea. Yixing teapots have the ability to withstand high temperatures and are slow to conduct heat; the handle remains comfortably cool even while pouring very hot tea.
Yixing teapot was first produced during the Song Dynasty (A.D. 960 - 1280) but did not flourish until the Ming Dynasty (1600). Throughout the ages they are renowned for their unique artistry and practical usage by incorporating the concepts of aesthetic beauty and natural harmony.
